By the entrance to Neptunes Arm car park, in the plaza next to the clock tower, is this human sundial.
To make it work, simply stand on the relevant month's brass plate and read your shadow.
The numbers in the outer circle are for GMT, the inner circle for BST.
Using the logic from the previous two photos, it was about 11:35am when I took these shots.
The sundial was opened in February 2005, "to celebrate 100 years". Hmm; of what? Herne Bay? Nah - that was officially recognized in the 1830's. I presume it's 100 years of the Herne Bay Rotary Club.
