(September 2004) On a trip down to Rye earlier this year, we were accosted by a couple of bikers touting their wares. In this case, it was to publicise guided day trips in France on the bike, with a company called bikedayz. We took a card and decided to think it over.
Later on, Mark, John and I bit the bullet and went out on 29 September. The day started relatively early, meeting up near the Folkestone exit of the M20 motorway, before catching the 0750 Channel Tunnel crossing. 250-odd miles, one coffee and one lunch stop (plus a couple of fuel stops for the thirstier bikes) later, we (and the bikes) were all thrashed out. It was a thoroughly exhilarating day out, along fantastic twisty and, more importantly, empty roads. I was knackered by the time I got home, mind. It's been a while since I've covered that many miles in a single trip. Suffice to say, a really good time was had by all. |

After a very hard day's ride, even I had to agree my bike was filthy. |
