| For those of you who recall the Fairy Glen at the end of Glenbervie and Gainsborough Drives, here at last are a couple of postcard images dating to some time in the 50's. Thanks to Ray Gallagher for sending these pictures in; I think they will stir a lot of memories for people. In his own words: |
| Hi Steve. Have attached two postcard photos of the Fairy Glen, taken in the late 50s. As a child, I used to spend two weeks holiday every year with my parents in the caravan that was situated in front of the Fairy Glen. You can just see the corner of it in the colour photo. |
| I remember Mr & Mrs Robinson, who owned the site, very well. They had a small daytime cottage on the small field between Fairy Glen and the site shop but lived in Reculver Road near Beltinge |
| I have fond memories of holidays spent on that site and even had my honeymoon there in 1968. I have some very nice home movies of the site including Fairy Glen, Beltinge and Reculver, taken around that time. |
| I still visit the site a couple of times a year, as the bridge and main field are still there. Unfortunately the rest of the site is a housing estate. Thank you for the website Steve. |
