The Bear and Key hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment as a restaurant with residential accommodation above. I think. There were a lot of arguments and a campaign by the Whitstable Times in particular to try and save the place in it's former incarnation but it seems that the developers got the upper hand. I'll see what I can find out about it as I can.
