Continuing on from the Thanet Way, Golden Hill now becomes Bogshole Lane, which will get us back to the main Whitstable Canterbury road at Clapham Hill. |

| Along Bogshole Lane, passing a well-hidden house behind the hedgerow. | Pass Burgess Farm, on the corner on the left. The first time I came along here, this looked like a Christmas tree from a distance. It is, in fact, a telegraph pole being slowly comsumed by the hedge. |

| Another typically countryside view. Cattle grazing or just lying in the sun. Now; my mum used to tell me that when cows lay down, we're in for rain. Not today, though..... | Bogshole Land ends at the bottom of Clapham Hill, just south of Whitstable. This is Smuggler's Cottage. |

| Cross the main road (carefully - people tend not to hang about coming along here) into Pye Alley Lane. | Continue along Pye Alley Lane as far as this T-junction. Turn right into Foxes Cross Lane. |

| At the crossroads, cross over into Pilgrims Lane, keeping alert for traffic coming round the blind bend on the left of the crossroads. There is a slight incline here but a good view at the end of it. | We're now headed for the new Thanet Way, along Pilgrims Lane. This road was closed for a number of years but is open again, as a single track road. Accordingly, keep an ear for oncoming traffic, although the road is rarely used. |

This is the view at the top of the hill, looking west across the new Thanet Way and the Graveney marshes. |

| Take care down this hill. It's a steep, single lane and full of loose gravel. You have been warned. | At the bottom of the hill, you'll pass a few houses and the Pilgrims Lane Kennels on the left. Turn left towards the Thanet Way. |

| We're now at the Thanet Way. Keeping in mind that this is a motorway-class road, follow the path up the hill. As you continue, the path veers slightly to the right, at which point it becomes very steep. | As we continue up, so the hill gets steeper. Much steeper. Man but I'm soooo unfit. |
